Who
Letter Shape is made by Andrey Liutynski (REUN), Warsaw, Poland, who is responsible for this data. Contact: liutynski.com/connect.
On your device
The game keeps your progress, streak, history and settings in your browser’s local storage so it can work. Nothing else is stored. Clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes it, and the game forgets your progress.
Anonymous play statistics
To make better puzzles, the game sends anonymous gameplay events: the puzzle number, time and letters used, how many times letters were moved or turned, finished or left, sharing, the sound setting, and errors. With them go the device type, the screen size rounded to 50 px, the language, the time zone as an hour offset, the app version and load time, the name of the site that linked here and the campaign tags of that link (such as utm_source=newsletter; sent once, then taken out of the address), and ranges from your saved progress (such as “days played: 5–8”). Text you type on the Alphabet page is never sent.
There is no identifier that recognises you across visits: each page load gets a random number, kept only in memory and forgotten when the page closes.
Services
Statistics are processed for us by PostHog (EU cloud, Frankfurt) under a data processing agreement, with IP addresses discarded and no location kept. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver and protect it. These providers may involve US companies certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Why and how long
Our legitimate interest in running and improving the game (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Statistics are kept for up to two years.
Your choices
You can ask for access, erasure or restriction, or object, through the contact above; anonymous statistics usually cannot be linked back to you. You can also complain to the Polish supervisory authority, Prezes UODO (uodo.gov.pl).
